Breeding Committee (BC)
The purpose of the Breeding Committee is to protect, preserve, and further the qualities of the breed by assisting the Board in matters relating to breeding and adherence to the breed standard. The Breeding Committee also works to educate its members about the above matters.
Election Committee (EC)
The purpose of the election committee is to assist the board by conducting Club elections in a fair and efficient manner, following the LCA By-Laws. The Election Committee shall have only such powers and duties as prescribed in Article IV of the LCA By-Laws, and/or by the Board, not inconsistent with the By-Laws.
Governance Committee (GC)
The purpose of the Governance Committee is to protect, preserve, and interpret the rules and regulations of the LCA and keep the Board apprised of relevant legal authority applicable to a non-profit/not for profit corporations. At any time, any LCA member may ask the GC for a formal opinion on a rules interpretation. That interpretation will be forwarded to the board for consideration and possible ratification.
Health, Research & Education Committee (HREC)
The purpose of the LCA Health, Research, and Education Committee is to identify health concerns, determine their impact on the breed, research those problems, make recommendations to the Breeding Committee and to the Board, and to educate the Membership. LeoLetter Committee (LL)
"The LeoLetter: Great Dogs, Great People," is the official quarterly publication of the LCA. It is the primary means of communication for Club business, news, educational & health materials, and matters of general interest to all Leo Lovers. Show Committee (SC)
The purpose of the Show Committee (SC) is to assist the Board in matters related to shows, competitions, and the earning of points and titles for LCA registered Leonbergers. The SC shall have the ability to propose show related policy to the board. They shall advise, assist and educate the board, competitors, and the membership on shows and show related matters.
